The Black banded collection is the final stage for confident readers in Key Stage 2. This band is specifically designed for Year 6 students who are reading at a high level and are ready to tackle more challenging texts, while still engaging with age-appropriate content. Although finding books that are both challenging and age-appropriate can be difficult, the Black band offers a fantastic selection of brilliant fiction and non-fiction that are perfectly suited to meet the needs of advanced readers.
