Riyad Karim Mahrez plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and captains the Algerian national team. Born in France, Mahrez suffered an early tragedy when his father died when Mahrez was only fifteen. Nevertheless his determination, slender frame and astounding ball skills soon secured him a contract. He began his career as a youth player for French club AAS Sarcelles but signed for English side Leicester City in 2014, helping them win the Championship and promotion to the Premier League.
